About the work:

Inspiration isn’t just something that happens by chance – it’s a calling by the universe for us to do something greater than we already have. As humans, it is our responsibility to answer this call and translate it into a story of humanity. Inspiration is about the feeling of awe you feel when you are inspired. The type that rushes through your consciousness and restores all the hope and love you have for a goal. This feeling that I felt when I listened to the stories of scientists who worked on the Psyche mission. Their passion for what they do encouraged me to be the best me I can, and to pass on the inspiration I felt to someone else. I hope that someone, anyone, who might see it will be able to feel the same inspiration I feel while creating art and take that inspiration forward.

About the work:

A major event such as the Mars flyby deserves to be recognized and celebrated. I wanted to capture the flyby in the style of the video game “Hades”, which is about the main character trying to reach Mount Olympus with the help of other gods. I focused on the moment of the gravity assist (or Mars’ aid to Psyche) because it marks a milestone of the entire journey, and is something that the Platinum Class of Psyche Inspired is very lucky to witness.

About the Work:

Xenon! This magical element that emits the familiar bright blue light we associate with spaceships. I took a lot of inspiration from mecha animes, and popular western sci-fi series like Star Trek and Star Wars. I really wanted to depict it in my own way, so I chose to draw a version of Psyche if she was a mecha pilot. Adding blue wings in the place of a jet pack, which was my original idea, tied it down to the original Psyche who was represented by a butterfly.

About the Work:

I wanted to loop this back to the first project about the inspiration that i felt for this. I think as a closing piece it was very fitting to highlight all that I learned about psyche by celebrating the scientists that worked on this project. The passion that the scientists had for the psyche mission reinforced the idea in me that passion is a driving factor in a lot of the stuff we do, and I wanted to show my appreciation to them for their role in this motivation that I have to explore and create.
