PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The goal of this project is to develop a web-based 2D educational game that presents space science ideas to younger students in an approachable and entertaining way. Many of the learning resources available today were not created with K–8 classroom constraints in mind. Teachers may only have a few minutes to cover a topic, and they frequently use Chromebooks and other low-power devices. As a result, students gain from resources that load rapidly, are simple to comprehend, and convey information in brief, manageable chunks. Our objective is to create a game that meets these needs while fostering an approachable and entertaining connection between students and actual NASA missions, such as Psyche.
This work was created in partial fulfillment of the Cleveland State University Capstone Course “CIS 493/4.” The work is a result of the Psyche Student Collaborations component of NASA’s Psyche Mission (https://psyche.ssl.berkeley.edu). “Psyche: A Journey to a Metal World” [Contract number NNM16AA09C] is part of the NASA Discovery Program mission to solar system targets.
