A circular, low-relief sculpture sits on a black cardboard base. Crumpled silver and copper foils form torn ridges and sharp edges. Steel wool and chicken wire create tangled cavities. Gravel and sand are embedded throughout. Charcoal darkens recessed areas, and mirror fragments catch light within fractured metallic layers.

The sculpture is based on the outline of the spacecraft; each surface of the "satellite" becomes a canvas. Each piece has engraved images of the struggles endured by Psyche: the abandoning in the mountains, the secret life inside Cupid's palace, and finally the elevation. Such a stylistic touch is used intentionally, referring to the classical artistry of the Renaissance woodcut.

“Mission Psyche: Spacecraft Journal Entry” depicts the Psyche spacecraft alongside a breakdown of its instruments as though it were a page out of a cartographer’s journal. In the top left corner, it has the name of the spacecraft as well as its launch/arrival date. Above the middle of the page is a drawing of Psyche. Below that, as well as in the top right corner, are Psyche’s various instruments.

A grayscale pen stippling drawing shows a surreal landscape. In the upper right corner is an eye, peering at the Psyche spacecraft suspended beneath a large hand guiding it with delicate strings. A metallic humanoid figure looks at a flight path with a spyglass in front of its view. A desk is shown covered in books, cartographic instruments, and a mirror with a reflection of the Psyche asteroid.

This piece depicts five butterflies, carrying different parts of the Psyche spacecraft. They are all moving in different directions and are holding the instruments on their back, in between their wings. In the background, there are dotted lines moving between the figures. Everything is outlined in black, and the shading is done in black cross-hatching.

This project explores asteroid 16 Psyche by turning three magnetic field theories into abstract 2D animations. Psyche appears as a white silhouette while particles show invisible forces around it. One version shows it acting like a small magnetized planet, another shows a stronger magnetic shield, and the third shows no magnetic field but interaction with solar wind.

A circular stained-glass panel shows the Psyche spacecraft passing close to Mars. The planet glows in layered reds, oranges, and golds, while the spacecraft appears in lighter metallic tones against dark space. The warm colors surround the craft briefly, suggesting a close flyby before it continues into the darkness beyond.

Utilizing steel rods and scrap sheet metal, I created an interpretation of what I believe the birth of psyche could have been. The piece was welded to show movement both physically and mythically around the asteroid body with a scrap metal solid core in the round shape of the Psyche asteroid with varied size strips of metal placed at the ends of rods curved around the spherical space of the body.

“The Journey” is a colored pencil on paper depiction of Psyche’s Mars flyby and trek through space. The surface of the colored pencil has a waxy finish and a smooth blend of colors that spell out the words “the journey” in thick, block-like font; the same words in a curved font lie in the bottom right corner. To the left of the cursive font, the Roman numeral III marks the third project.
